A few years back, well before we were married with kids, Alan and I took a road trip from the UK to Italy for his birthday. We wound up on the side of Lake Como and instantly we were in love. The scenery, the food, the cafe culture…all of it was just sensational and to this day still remains as one of our favourite places. When this beautifully romantic Lake Como elopement shoot landed in my inbox all of the memories of this gorgeous place came flooding back and I just knew we had to share it. Maybe i’ll even have to convince Alan we need to take another trip!!

Belinda from Blue Gardenia Events tell us more about this beautiful shoot….

“Amidst the grandeur and opulence of Lake Como, we find a love story, a wildly romantic elopement. An elopement where our bride and groom relive their love story. Where they first met, where they exchanged their first glance, first love letter, and the very spot where he got down on one knee and professed his unending love. And, this is the unique charm in planning an elopement or an intimate wedding…it is your time to plan a wedding day just around you two, your memories and milestones, and focus on those lovely details that will truly be cherished.

Here, our bride and groom focused on the beautiful Villa where they met & the love letters that brought them together. The stunning invitation suite by In Loft Calligraphy features a hand-drawn sketch of the Villa in a palette of deep purple hues, coordinating with the custom menus and place cards. Shades of purple, blues, with pops of magenta, and black continue through the bride’s lush bouquet, vintage accessories, peignoir set, and brocade shoes. Her Pronovias gown is adorned with romantic and subtle details, a beautiful train, and a lace fabric that glistens in the sunlight. Our groom, ever the artist, has his sketchbook in hand and a unique velvet accented suit.

And, just because you are planning an elopement or a smaller wedding – does not mean that your table should be small on details. In fact, an intimate wedding is the perfect opportunity to set a decadent table filled with family heirlooms or your latest finds from the local market -and, of course, abundant florals and candlelight. A sweet ending can also be a part of your elopement (not only in the form of a petite and delicious cake) – but, also in planning a new adventure like reserving a vintage boat for a sunset ride. All in all, planning an elopement is the opportunity to avoid an overcomplicated, more stressful, larger wedding – and, plan a wildly romantic adventure, large on sentimental details, and focused on your love story.”

Congratulations to the team involved in this romantic Lake Como shoot. It really is beautiful. Its making me want to visit again!!

Much Love
