I’m so very pleased to be sharing the beautiful wedding of Roz and James with you today. We really do love a good destination wedding and this one didnt disappoint. The pair decided to travel to the Ardèche in the South of France for an outdoor wedding celebration with their closest family and friends. They chose a stunning ruin, Chateau de Boulonge to say I do and the day was expertly captured by Cinderella Photographie.

How did you both meet?
We met in a nightclub. I went out with some girlfriends for an 18th birthday celebration. I had just separated from my ex and my friend was determined to make me forget it. After a few drinks I went dancing with James, apparently I stole his phone to record my number …but I can not believe this story!
A week later he sent me messages, I decided to give him a chance. He picked me up and took me to a local pub for lunch. We then went for a walk near a pond and fed the ducks and there began our story!
What made you decide to get married in France?
We live in England but we wanted to get married in France, a country we love and that reminds us of our summer holidays when we were kids. I have always dreamed of a wedding in the ruins of a historic castle. After two trips to make visits and be sure of our choice we decided on the Château De Boulogne. We fell in love with this beautiful place that offers a great view of the valley and the village.
How was the morning of the wedding?
I was very stressed but the preparation in the morning helped keep my mind busy. Planet Hair Aubenas took care of my beauty! I had trouble delegating but I finally let my family and friends take care of what was left to set up. I was just waiting for one thing, to find James!
Tell us about your ceremony…
My best friend officiated our ceremony. It was superb, between laughter and crying. We were very touched by all the people who made the trip from England to France just for our wedding. After the ceremony we had lots of group photos and then we drank local wine and tea as a cocktail.
What did you do for food?
We thad an excellent spit roast pig from our caterer Au Coin Du Feu.
We used Pastry Didier Laurent for our Croque en bouche and Les Caprices De Madeleine for gluten-free naked cake. A real dream and delicious desserts.
What did you do for entertainment?
The French group Stereo Ties who played and sang in English to perfection, their performance was great and our guests loved it. We enjoyed the band, everyone loved it, we sang and danced on a lot of songs. The acoustics of the castle was great, it was the best live music experience of my life.
Being in England it was quite difficult to find suitable suppliers however our photographer Cinderella Photographie was so amazing. She helped us in the organization, advised us of providers and was just fabulous on D-Day. She has shown great professionalism, is an incredible photographer and her photos are super. THANK YOU!
So many congratulations to both Roz and James. What a weekend it looked to be!! I’m now very much craving a Croque en bouche…
