There is something really special about being married at your family home amongst familiar surroundings and some of your closest family and friends. This is exactly what Alex and Chris did when they got married last year in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony followed by a rustic marquee reception in the walled garden of the property. Photographer for the day,Masha Unwerth, gives us their account of their happy day…

Masha says…

Alexandra and Chris were married in the summer, in the beautiful private grounds of Alexandra’s family home in Holmbury, Surrey. Their wedding ceremony and marquee reception were in the surrounding romantic home woodland which was absolutely perfect. Woodland ceremonies are about love and freedom. It’s the perfect blank canvas to design the wedding day the way you want it and this is exactly what Chris and Alexandra did. Lovingly made by the groom the wedding arch and all the benches for the guests were a true labor of love. With a bohemian and rustic feel the celebrations continued in the marquee dressed with foliage garlands, hanging paper lanterns, and twinkling fairy lights, with rustic tables and benches. A wedding band duo played whilst the couple’s guests enjoyed the beautiful weather, there was also a DIY outdoors bar, Polaroid and Instagram ‘selfie’ point where guests could get creative!

I almost cried (with laughter, of course!) over fabulous speeches and absolutely loved photographing all of the night owls dancing away to the six piece band in the evening…

May congratulations to Alex and Chris on their special day. It looked like they had an amazing day with their family and friends.

Much Love

Emily xx
